For the first time in 2024, we offered the top 24 bulls for sale by Helmsman Auction interfaced with AuctionsPlus, at our first on-property sale on Wednesday 2nd October.

Our sale bulls are all vaccinated, scanned, independently assessed, parentage verified and tested for breeding soundness (including semen morphology). We record actual birthweight for every calf, 200 day and 400 day weights, and submit tail hair samples for 100K genotyping, so you can have confidence in our EBVs. The raw data that goes into these EBVs is available on request, or in Supplementary Sheet 1 on the on-property sale page.

Ursa Major has good balanced figures with low birthweight and high fats. He's by Mount Major Skipper and is certainly showing a fair bit of the softness and shape that Skipper has been passing on to his calves.

One of the youngest bulls in the drop but he's certainyl got some livoely shape and beautiful type. he's very much like his sire, Mount Major Skipper - he's quite soft and meaty. Picture taken 1/03/25

I like this bull and I love his dam. He's very well balanced for growth and carcass traits. An extremely smart bull. His dam, Q37, is one of my favourite cows - long, deep bodied, milky, mid-framed. Urana is half-brother to Mount Major Tony who has been retained as a herd sire.

Umpire's a low birthweight calf with heaps of IMF. He certainly stands out in the paddock every time I go in it. I think he's going to make an A-grade bull, with excellent feet like his sire, Mount Major Strzelecki. He's got Dajory Dynamic and The Glen Intensity in his pedigree - both of which are full on meat machines. In the top 10 on Breedplan for HGF Index for all 2023 born bulls.
